the worse experience ever
The car they gave me wreaked of smoke smell. Then they gave me another one with little direction. The drop off was a nightmare, no signage, completely unclear about what to do, no outside attendants. The whole experience was confusing.
Staff was very friendly and efficient.
Pros:It was a little higher than normal, but I was glad that there wasn't an exorbitant charge to return the car in another city. In Europe, I've experienced no additional charges at all for dropping off at a different airport/location.
Cons:The Corolla I ended up in was fine, but in signing up for a "Hertz Choice" at pickup for a slightly better rate, I think the upsell game was afoot (put me in a very tiny car so that I'd have to choose a larger, more expensive vehicle). This is the first time I've rented with a company that I've experienced this (perhaps I've been lucky in the past, and a mid-size just always came up?). Dropoff a little strange because no one was checking in cars at MSP. Had to explore to get a receipt--perhaps this was a covid thing?
Easy pick up and drop off. Nice car and good value!
