I booked a compact car back in January 2023. It turned out it was an electric vehicle (which I've never used/driven this type before), so I called to get a car which operated on gas. They charged me extra for the gas vehicle. Upon receipt of my confirmation, I noticed that they didn't give me an automatic which I had orginally booked, so I had to call back to change the reservation. Again it was extra money. When planning my trip, I discovered that I didn't need the car as many days I had originally planned. The contract said I couldn't turn it in early nor cancel the reservation. This mind you, was back in February. In late August when I had to pick up the car at the airport, it took me 1/2 hour to locate it. Towards the end of my rental, I discovered damage to a back tire while parked at my hotel. The road service assistant who was sent out to assess the damage told me that it made the car not driveable. When trying to get further assistance, I tried making several phone calls to SIXT customer service, but they either dropped or no one would pick up. Furthermore, I tried calling the number for roadside breakdowns and I received a message that they were closed. Just frustrating - I would think twice before renting from SIXT again..
