Car hires in Crescent Park, Orlando

This place is awful, they charge fees for showing up late that are more expensive than the rental itself, do not use this awful place

The pick up took 2 hours, I was told that I was going to be getting a free shuttle from the airport to the car rental place and upon arrival that was incorrect we had to take a taxi from the airport to nu car and it cost us $110. I had messaged the car rental place prior to arriving to verify that we would indeed be picked up by a shuttle at our airport and I was told absolutely but this was not true. I flew into the Sanford international airport but I verified that’s where the shuttle went and was reassured that I would be. We needed up having to spend $220 on a ride to the car rent place and a ride back to the airport. When we picked up the car there was all these extras that ended up being charged to us as well so what we thought was a cheap car actually ended up costing us more then other companies would have.

Great people and courteous they were fast

Shuttle bus did not have sufficient capacity, left people stranded. Check in process was lengthy (2hrs from arrival). Weird processing on verification of insurance- non standard from rest of car rental industry. Car was not clean on inside. Multiple times required photos of Personable identifiable information (non standard). Employees did not have a valid explanation for their process. Return took too long as well. Did not instill trust in the process.

NextCar is a complete scam. First, the terms under which we rented through Kayak changed when we arrived: we could not leave the state of FL, had only limited miles, and had to present proof of insurance that was required to be a carrier on their "list". Next, they were *requiring* that we pay for additional insurance from them -- for hundreds of dollars - unless we could show proof of insurance. So, I pulled up our full auto policy on my device and then they changed the story and said that, because our carrier was not on their "approved list", we would still need to buy their insurance. We indicated it was fine and that we would simply dispute the extra "insurance" charge after the fact with our credit card company. They then flat out refused to rent the car to us at all because we said we were planning to dispute the portion of charges not originally agreed to when booking through Kayak. The representative behind the counter was outwardly rude (was mocking me when I began to record so our cancellation, forced by them, didn't come back on us afterwards) and clearly had requirements/quotas/commission with her employer because you could tell this had happened there before and she was fully prepared for an adversarial encounter from second one. At the same time this was happening to us, there was a gentleman to my left with the EXACT SAME issue. Shortly after walking out to go back to the airport to go to a reputable car rental company, another group walked out behind us stating the EXACT SAME thing again! As we shared our stories together with these other groups while waiting to get back to the airport to find another rental, they kept watching all of us from inside as well as a man outside a second entrance with a laptop... just odd and creepy and none of us felt comfortable there at all. Nonestly, this exact thing likely happens dozens of times a week at this place and they are purposefully preying on customers who have been shuttled out to their building that is 15 mins from the airport and have no place else to go, no means to rent another car, no availability of another car, English is not their first language, or they are tired from travelling and will sign and agree to anything. On their best day, this "business" is unscrupulous... but, in reality, it is an actual, real-life, out-in-the-open scam. We have rented cars from various rental companies - some brand name, some very small - all over the world and have NEVER encountered what happened there. It is my strongest recommendation that Kayak never list their company or vehicles ever again... if you do, I am telling you that you are supporting a near-criminal (classic bait and switch) company.

The car was a piece of junk. 65k miles on it with a crack in the windshield. Really horrible value for the money.

The car was clean, that’s the good part. Other than that - the staff tried to trick me into getting coverage by saying “are you sticking with the basic or do you want the full coverage” - when in reality, my insurance covers me and I would like the third option of no coverage. It just felt very sneaky and sleazy. Then getting the car, no one helps understand the process. There was only one SUV which I was supposed to have, but the doors were locked. I went to ask for help and the guy said they would have to call someone and it would take a long time. That’s it. So I went with a smaller crossover. The lady at the exit was on her phone the whole time - rudely told me to open the door - and that was all she said to me. The return address (Atlanta airport) make sure you don’t use the address because it takes you to the wrong side. No one speaks to you, one person points you in a direction and you park and that’s it. No verification you dropped off.

Great car, great service. Lots of hidden fees that made it a bit more expensive then planned but ended up satisfied with our car during our stay.
