This rental company requires 2 shuttles and requires their own insurance (not included in the booking fees) which doubled the cost of our rental. By the time we were made aware of these extra fees, changing to another company was equally expensive last minute. While they were nice about it and the car was clean, these two inconveniences (wasting time and money) mean I would never rent from them again.

Build in plenty of time to get to the pickup location as it’s two shuttles away from the airport. Once you arrive, you better hope you aren’t more than two hours beyond your estimated pickup time or they will have given your car away. Extremely frustrating—I’ve never dealt with a rental company with these policies, and looking at other reviews I’m not the only one!

It was so long to get to. Take the shuttle to the car rental place and then they pick you up from there to go to the economy car rental. It was long to get there and on the way back we opted to just Uber instead of let them take us back to the car rental area to then have to go take another shuttle to the airport.

Received the car with gas light on. Needed to put fuel in the car immediately. Employee had no understanding of procedures if the car gets involved in an accident. Had no number to give or insurance company info to give.

Horrible. Scammers. They would not honor our reservation. Said it was a busy weekend and only had more expensive cars. Acted like"jeeze, we're real sorry, here's all we can do" No way to run a business. So we left and ended up screwed anyway. Also watch out, they charge extra for after hours drop off

I waited 2 1/2 hours to get car. Instructions were wrong. There was no shuttle. I had to call and get picked up in a Jeep Cherokee. Took me 1 1/2 hours to get to NU rental facility. Associates were extremely rude when I complained about the process they said “It is what it is.” Once I finally got to talk to someone my rental was canceled because it was more than 2 hours past my rental pick up time (NU rentals fault). Then they made me buy their insurance because they said the Kayak insurance I already bought was not valid. When I got the car it was dirty inside and out and the gas gauge read around 3/4 of a tank. They told me to bring it in at the same level. How is this possible? I have never received a rental without a full tank. Did they expect me to keep adding gas until it got to 3/4 tank? Once I drove off and reached my hotel, I realized that they kept my credit card. So I had to use my emergency card to check into the hotel. This all happened on Friday. Then when I returned the car, there was nobody there to meet me. I sat in the parking lot for 30 minutes until the jeep Cherokee driver returned and helped me. Then he gave me a ride in a disgusting Jeep that looked like it had not been cleaned in weeks. I was so angry that I canceled my credit card that they kept and ordered a new one. This place ruined my whole weekend and has me second guessing using Kayak or any travel service at this point. Terrible company, Terrible customer service, and Terrible experience. Rude employees.

The price was exactly what they said it would be, no hidden fees or "upgrades". They had the car they promised me and got me in and out in minutes. Drop off and pick was quick and painless. Will use them again.

When arriving at airport called number for shuttle to pick up only to be told the company went out of business stranding me at the airport with no rental and offered no help. Didn't receive any prior notice that they went out of business so I could make alternate arrangements

They are open limited hours with no after hours option so if your flight is delayed you’ll be left stranded, as I was. Not worth the cheaper price.

The rep up charged us and wouldn’t honor the price of the quote even though I showed her the email confirmation and itinerary. She was very rude and pushy - poor customer service. On top of not honoring the price she tried to charge us for 3 days when we only needed it for 2 days. Will never use Ace/Mex Rent A Car again.

I said I’d pick-up at 5:00 PM. We arrived at 5:20 PM slowed by heavy traffic and the office was closed!! Very disappointed! Could not pickup next day, Had to leave San Diego at 6:00 AM!

Made 5 pm reservation and no one there to pick up car. Contacted service was no help as hung up on me 2 times and never called back and wasn’t able to help as tried to transfer to airport at almost 3 x the price and didn’t responsibility for car not available at time requested. They didn’t contact me at number to come earlier if they were not going to be there.

excellent helpful agents at drop and pickup VERY GOOD PRICE !!! LOWEST by far. Nice big SUV that worked fine. Did I mention that the overall price was BEST by far !!

i did not know that AVIS and BUDGET were the same company and could not find the BUDGET pickup site at first.

If you don't mind spending around $30 round trip for taxi fare to get to this place from the Rental Car Center, you will receive around 60% discount from Avis fares at the Center. Good service, nice people!

Drop off in Oakland was horrible. Person kept yelling at us to leave keys in car while we were making sure we had all our stuff. Avis lady in San Diego was nice

The rental car olace eas not at the airport. I had no way of knowing that and spent alot of extra money on uber rides. Huge headache and very bad experience. You need a huge disclaimer that says no transportation avsilable to and from rental car place.
