The car was wonderful, clean and what I reserved online. The actual check- out and return service in terms of leaving the garage and dropping the car off- at the same airport, BNA, Nashville were perfect. The "check in " portion of initially speaking w/ an agent and reviewing the reservation, where they pitch add'l insurance, offer to fill the car for you was a time- wasting nightmare. I stood in the line for roughly 37- 45 minutes, just during this part. I was informed that unless a customer is a "Preferred member" the check- in process is unavoidable and hence, the long line. Just a heads up.
I booked a luxury car simply because it was the lowest rate, but the pick-up location at the Nashville airport didn't have any of those, so I was given a mid-sized car. This car was so scratched and dented and drove rough like it needed an alignment on it, and it also have over 50K miles on it. I asked the agent if I would be charged less since they didn't have the class of car I booked, and he said that the rate for a mid-sized that day would be astronomical and above my current rate; that logic doesn't make sense to me, as I should have been given a lower rate based on when I booked and not that day. Anyway, the agent at the drop-off location at the Asheville (NC) airport was great! I explained all of this to her, and she adjusted my bill to a very acceptable amount and said that that car should have already been sold and not part of their fleet anymore. It always pays to ask questions and question your bills if something doesn't seem right!
Pros:We canceled due to poor customer service and ridiculous pricing for a few extra hours.
They have an extra deposit not advertised of 250 dollars in addition to taking your money for the rental amount upfront. The car was fine, but not advertising about that sizeable of deposit is extremely unprofessional especially as a traveller stuck in a different city. Will not be doing business with budget again.
