My experience was awful! When I arrived to pick up the rental that I reserved I was told that they didn’t have the car that I had reserved. I was told they could give me a larger car, but would have to charge me the upsize price. When I told the agent that I reserved a car in the price range that I could afford, and showed her my confirmation information I was told that this happens all the time. That whoever people rent cars from on line don’t know the inventory at a store, but will still rent and give confirmation. In order to get a car to pick my daughter up from college, I had to pay more. When I dropped the car off, not only did that agent lack all customer service skills, by asking me to go back outside to get the mileage for her, which has never been asked of me by any company I’ve ever rented from, she also told me that these online companies, like kayak, Priceline, etc will rent 100 cars online for Avis on a given day, and they will have to turn half of those customers away because of lack of availability. I was very dissatisfied.
