The Staff was not helpful at all when I was trying to get the vehicle I rented. I rented an SUV for Sat. at 10:00 AM - I went to pick it up and they told me my rental was not until Sun. I had made a mistake on the date and I admit that. They did not have anything to rent to me and said I had to wait until 10 AM on Sunday. I tried another Enterprise location on line and they said they had an SUV for me. I went to get the rental and they did not have it --- they only had a pick up truck. Luckily I had not cancelled my original reservation. I went on Sun. to pick up the SUV and there was nothing available. I was told my SUV had not been returned yet. There were several SUV's in the parking lot but I was told they were rented to other people. Even tho I was there first they would not let me take one of the SUV 's on the lot. I had rented one also - why did my rental not count. I was told to go back home and they would call me when my rental was there. Now I am not only leaving town a day later than i wanted to, I don't even know if they will have a vehicle for me. At 11:00 I was called and they told me they got in touch with the people who rented the car they were reserving for me and that they should return it by noon. They asked if that was too late. I said absolutely it is already too late and waiting until noon and still not knowing if it would be returned was unacceptable. I asked if there was anything else that I could rent. They said they had an Altima if I wanted that. To get on the road, I accepted. I asked for a cheaper rate because I rented an SUV and they gave me a car. I was told they would look into that. When I returned the car I was told the rate was cheaper but according to my records, it was not. The vehicle service light was on from the moment we left Enterprise. Due for oil change. I'm so glad we didn't break down. It was a very stressful situation all around. I didn't feel I was treated right. There were SUV's on the lot but I wasn't able to get one even though I had rented about a month in advance. My reservation didn't seem to count. I've rented many times from Enterprise with no problems but this was not at all what I expect out of a car rental company. I used to work at Avis in Sarasota and we never had to turn anyone away mad.
I could have gotten a car when I needed it so my vacation wasn't off to a bad start. Very Stressful situation. I should have gotten a discount since I didnt' get the SUV that was originally rented.
