The car reeked of cigarette smoke. We have 2 kids under 2 and would never have expose them to 3rd hand smoke. We were driving to the DE beach and by the time we were sure it was smoke we were too far from the airport without time to complain and get a new vehicle. Very disappointed
Pros:Staff at pick up was very friendly but told me I couldn't return the car to the location for which I had a confirmed booking. She said that location had been closed. I had to choose a different location and rebook. This caused me to have to arrange a different pick up and more time.
Cons:If they updated their site to not allow me to book a drop off at a closed location.
I am a Hertz Gold member but, by booking through Kayak, they didn't give me any amenities. I waited 30 minutes for my dar in BWI.
There was a long line during pickup with only one person checking in for Hertz. Had to wait in line for about 35-40 minutes
Hertz could have honored the paid in full reservation I made. Instead, my husband and I were stranded in the middle of the night with no car at BWI. Fortunately, after a two and a half hour wait in line, at 3:30 a.m., Avis was able to a find car for us. I cost us $114 more than we had paid to Hertz. What is the purpose of a paid in full reservation, if Hertz is not going to honor the reservation??? Nora and Neil Isaacs
