Picking up at NewYork JFK airport rental car place was great! quick, courteous and streamlined. The car was warm inside and the engine was running, was clean, in very good condition, full fuel tank and performed excellent. To drop it off at Miami Budget office on Bird Road (40th Street) was Not Good. After driving overnight from New York to Miami, our scheduled drop off time was 8:00 am so my wife and me were there at 7:50 am. on my arrival there were 2 other clients waiting, the place was closed and no soul in sight. Although they have posted a large sign at the door with instructions about dropping off the car after hours, there is no drop-off box, or any mail box or alike, so I called customer service to ask for instructions but Michelle adamantly said that I needed to deliver the car and keys to a representative and that I would be responsible for everything and if not, yakety, yakety, yakety..., thus we had to wait 40 minutes to be able to handle the keys to someone. The only employee at the office showed up 30 minutes later at 8:30 am. After 8:30 AM the traffic in Miami is horrendous so we were an hour late for work.
Waited 2 hours for a car we had previously booked the place was a shambles hadnt a clue what was going on just loading more and more in and most people waiting 2 or 3 hours Was told we needed a toll pass as we were going to Tn costing 300 Dollars. We passed no tolls going as the sat nav had been set to avoid tolls even tho it is permanently fixed to window totally done on purpose withput a dpoubt No tolls from the I18 all the way to tn and none in Tn we passed 5 tolls in it and only on the day we drove back not amounting to $60 so $240 Wasted The car was wet through when it arrived. We got in and drove off. as we went into New Jersey the oil light came on We then noticed in the back a mouldy roll a babies dummy and sweets melting on the carpet the car had not been cleaned in times of covid very worrying . I tried to contact budget but no answers from anywhere so checked and topped the oil myself by Day 5 and through facebook I did get a reply and a promise of a $100 dollar reduction. Dropped the car yesterday and no Reduction had to go in and queue again and she said she would knock 75 off . Never use them again Avis I noticed had a few cars in you could choose from as a walk up Budget had hidden extras of almost $500 dollars Wouldnt use again

The car had only quarter tank and it said in the agreements full tank. Don’t charge me for gasoline please. I brought it back with half tank. So you owe me a quarter. Also, three tires are completely worn out. Only one is new which the the front driver side. This rental experience is way below the expectations. I drove an unsafe car with my kids and wife in it. The car has bad three tires. It looks like onul one got replaced and three are totally worn out. Pictures were taken for proof. Been driving 5 hours at 50MPH instead of 70MPH, and had it slipped three times Because of light rain conditions. This is not acceptable at all to put my family at risk.
We were scheduled to pick up our car at 11pm, due to lines at passport control we didn’t get to the rental counter until about 11:15. Budget closes at 11, so there was a sign on the door instructing us to go to Avis, where we found a huge line of people waiting and only one poor employee working. After waiting in line for about an hour and barely moving (with two exhausted young kids getting more squirrely by the minute), I got on my phone and made a new reservation through Hertz, which is right next door, open 24 hours and had no line, and was in my rental car within 15 minutes. Thanks Hertz!
