Pick up in Granada was great!! Drop off in Valencia was a total nightmare!! Although I filled the car before leaving the Highway, the two people who were at the counter said my gas tank was short a couple of gallons. They insisted I go and fill it up instead of charging me for 2 gallons of gas. Having to leave the office /garage in a city I didn’t know caused me to get lost. When I found a gas station, it cost only 6 euros to fill the tank. I would have gladly paid twice that much to not have the aggravation of being sent away and getting lost. I’m a senior citizen and this was very difficult and upsetting.

Directions for the drop off location at the Madrid airport were unavailable when we needed them. We tried both Google maps and Waze to get to "Hertz Madrid Airport" and a multitude of other variations of Hertz car return, airport, etc. and they all took us to closed roads that were for airport employees only. Providing a specific drop off address and/or step by step directions to get to the drop off location would have been helpful since the online maps don't work.
We turned up at the office to collect the car to be told that there was no car available. We had to take a very expensive taxi to our destination instead. The staff at the Enterprise office seemed to think that this was not an unusual experience, that people often book over the internet but no cars are available. Even worse, I went on the Internet to see if I was able to hire a car from a different company and Enterprise were still showing availability for multiple car types despite none being available. Taxis and associated costs have left us a few hundred euros out of pocket. Enterprise are clearly using very dodgy business practices. I will not use them again.

Gas tank should have been full. We were told it was full but had to fill tank after driving about 90km. Called Enterprise and learned tank was really only 1/4 full.

This was the worst experience with a car rental EVER! Never use Enterprise especially in Granada! We had obligations to get to but we showed up and they had cancelled our reservation given our car away. They were also uncaring and rude about it and wouldn’t Even help trying to find other arrangements. While we were there someone else came in and they did the same thing to them. They were a little late and had even called ahead to let them know and were told no problem and that Enterprise had a 2 hour window. They were screwed over too and they were very unfriendly and unhelpful (and there were 5 agents standing around doing nothing)! We frantically got online and cars were scarce but found a Sixt car rental available not too far away. Shared a taxi with the other group to Sixt and had a great experience there. Not only were they good to work with I don’t think I have ever had a kinder and more helpful agent. Even offered to get the car for us from the tight and tricky downtown city parking lot and drive it in front of the street for us and help with luggage. Then sent an email shortly after we left to make sure everything was ok. I have never used Sixt before but they are now my new a fancy of choice.
Alamo had no cars available when we arrived, forcing us to switch to Avis. We were not even informed of this prior to arriving at the rental office. Pathetic!
