When I dropped the car off with Janet R. she was excellent! I was wearing a sling on my right arm because I have broken my shoulder. She couldn’t have been more helpful with me and my luggage. The wheel on the luggage had broken and I couldn’t make it move with one hand. She brought it downstairs for me on the elevator. I so appreciated that! She deserves a raise, and a promotion!

I had rented a car for 2 weeks at a rate of $1097. They didn't have the car I rented and put me in a Nissan economy car. One day into the rental, the car developed mechanical problems while parked in the parking lot at my Camden Maine hotel - flashing headlights and rear lights, but totally dead. Enterprise was singularly unhelpful and took no responsibility for getting me another car. This was a business trip and I was left totally in the lurch. They picked up the car a day later and proceeded to charge me $357.24 for a two-day rental at full cost. Though they have now promised to refund half of the $357.24, I have yet to see that refund on my credit card. I will never rent from Enterprise again, and probably will never rent a car through Kayak either, as I was totally left to come up with an alternative. Cannot believe the appalling lack of customer service.

After making the reservation and driving to that location, we were told that they don’t have a car for us. We spent $70 to Uber to and from the Dorchester, MS location just to be told that there is no car for us. Extremely disappointed!

After making the reservation on line, I went in person to the office to add an additional day to the rental. After waiting in line for 30 minutes at an office in downtown Boston staffed by a single person (the rare office not out at the airport), the person in the office did this and quoted me a price which was essentially the same as the initial quote with one more day at the same daily rate. When I went later to print the rental information which was emailed to me I discovered that the price had gone up by 35% (for taking a 9 day rental to a 10 day rental) with an increase in both the base rate and the daily rate. After close to an hour on the phone with unhelpful customer service, I cancelled the rental and went to Enterprise instead — a price comparable the original quote from Hertz, with an office staffed by multiple people eager to be helpful. An experience which will shift my loyalty in the future.

Always have to speak with foreign person who does not understand English or convey information to customer that is not accurate or confusing. Customer unable to secure need agreement for car rental. Information passed on to customer was not correct and caused customer much anxiety.

I booked a reservation and was not told that the location CLOSED at 4:00 on Saturday! My train didn’t get in until after 4:00. It cost me several HUNDRED DOLLARS to get a car at the airport.

Tried to rent me a Tesla, but where we were going did not have easy access to charging stations, then had to pay to “upgrade” to a lower class gasoline car. This was not requested or mentioned in reservation, but what can you do. I tried calling to change my vehicle drop off location to another near by location and customer service was poor, lady barely spoke English and could not understand what I was asking. I basically gave up. The car was otherwise fine.

Rented the car using the kayak app realize the rental was 20 mi away from the airport. Cancel the rental 5 minutes after I made the rental from Hertz. Still got charged on my credit card still fighting the charges even though I never made the rental never picked it out never used the car and canceled it 5 minutes after I made the reservation. Your website takes no accountability and just says canceling is up to the one who makes the listing total BS never will rent anything from kayak again

We received two faulty cars. The first was a breeze to exchange in Portland, ME. The second was incredibly dangerous and took us asking to speak with a a manager for our situation to be taken seriously and car of equal value to be provided. Overall we had a good experience.

Clerk wasn’t happy that we booked 3rd party and discussed how it impact their job to make it harder by having to enter information provided by renter- then Tried to add on 1200 worth of insurance- wasn’t happy when I declined and argued about it. I was delayed because of storms and finally got to Boston around 330 am and the offices had closed at 130am so I had to wait an additional 2 and a half hours before I could try to pick up my rental. When it was finally time to pick up my car they took an additional hour getting cars “ready” for customers. The car I had had been cleaned in haste and there was still food and trash underneath the seats but at this point I was ready to just be on the road to my destination. When it was time to drop off the car I was charged an additional $113 dollars for taxes and surcharges which I thought was included with the initial rental. Knowing how Thrifty operates I will chose a different company from now on and will not refer them to anyone.

In spite of Kayak or Hotwire sending me a reservation number when I got to the Portland airport National could not find my reservation and would not rent me a car. I have already sent a blistering email to one of you sucky third parties about this awful experience and I am astonished you keep asking me about it. Truly one of the WORST experiences I have ever had while traveling. Do not contact me again for any reason!!!!!

First car had less than half a tank of gas, and multiple warning lights (tire pressure low, needs oil change…). Second car was dirty- something spilled in back seat, previous renter papers, something spilled on dash-white…At over $100 a day, for a week, nobody checks these cars out?
