It took 90 minutes to get my car. When I made the reservation, I answered all the quesitons, flight number and expected landing time. And my driver license number, and credit card info. I had to do it all over again at the counter, and it took over 11 minutes to process my chip card. The counter person said that they had to find my car, and after confirming my car, the payment would go through and whatever made up story she had. It was clear that the people behind the counter needed training, as a manager was running from person to person. and when we walked across into the Reno parking building, we were told 25 minutes, which became an hour before our car was brought out. They had to clean it. When I was growing up, Avis had a slogan, we try harder. Now, the slogan should be, go f*ck yourself, we don't care. This is another example of a bust out by a private investment group buying a company and bleeding it out in fees and debt.

Personnel were friendly but the car I was first assigned at Meadow Wood Mall had an issue with low tire pressure by the end of our first day. We had to return it the next day when I awoke to a flat tire. Hotel personnel helped me fill up air so I could drive it back to the Mall. In the end, there was limited inventory so I was referred to the airport location. Staff that checked my car in at the airport apparently did not give me the proper slip with the end mileage or fuel tank status, so I had to go back to where the car return was after having already walked to the counter. Once returning to the counter the exchange was made, and everything was good, except that we discovered later that the inside of the car had not been cleaned and was full of food crumbs, food wrappers, etc. Things were sticky and dusty --- kind of gross, actually. I would highly recommend that staff pay more attention in cleaning the inside of the car as well as the outside of the car. That said, the second car ran well. The first should have never been assigned. It was a 2020 Honda CRV that had more than 40,000 miles

The car had been washed (very quickly I think, because it was not very clean and the inside had not been cleaned very well either), but it was comfortable. It came with gps which we didn’t expect, so that helped in getting around and to our next destinations. Overall, a good rental… just not very clean.

Oversold mid size SUV (what I paid for and needed for mountain travel)- given minivan. Not safe, caused major travel issues for us. The only other option was a pick up with rear wheel drive. Not safe, won’t be using Avis again. I spent more for a specific type of vehicle and it wasn’t available. Not sure why they would over sell the vehicles and there is no direct line to the Avis Reno office to see if they received the vehicle we needed except driving in and talking to them face to face. Not happy at all with Avis.

This experience was awful. 1. The car type Kayak said I would receive when booking was different than the Avis confirmation email stated 2. I needed a ski rack so I called Avis national service number who suggested calling the local pickup location. I tried calling them 4 separate times at different times of the day but each time time I was rerouted to the national call center. The national car center said they would put a note in the system for the ski rack. 3. I also needed it to be 4WD or AWD as this was for a ski vacation and we were heading into the mountains. Same situation as above - national call center added it to a note on the reservation. 4. When I arrived to pick it up, they told them that there were no ski racks available, and no vehicles of that type with 4WD or AWD left in their inventory.

The car I reserved was in the lot but for some reason they still gave me a different car without being told. Once I realized I went back and tried to change it. The person helping me was nice but the other staff memeber who originally helped me interjected and seemed to not want me to have the car that I reserved. Unliimately the new person helped me and was friendly. The car was filthy in the interior. Dry mud all over inside. Not clean at all. Body panels were loose. Then I was supposed to pick up car from an attendant who was not there. I think it would be good if the cars were at least cleaned before giving them to customers. Still a good value. I’m hoping this very filthy car was fluke.

I searched for "Reno airport" and found this reservation with Hertz. But, it was NOT at the Reno airport, so I had to make another reservation. Unfortunately, Kayak or Hertz would not give me a refund.

I booked car rental 4 days prior to my trip. I got 2 confirmations from Hertz about the reservation. Couple hours before my arrival while i am on my connection flight i got a phone call from Hertz canceling my reservation as they could not accommodate it due to car unavailability. I got to Reno with no car available throughout town and had to use Uber. Hertz branch manager was not helpful and very rude.
Staff at both pick up and drop off were courteous, professional and helpful. Would definitely recommend

car was ready when I asked, clean, got great mileage, and destination airport had 24 hour service, so when I arrived at 4 o'clock in the morning, they were there smiling in a great mood happy to take the keys and get me on my way super efficiently.

I had to wait in line at the airport rental desk to show my rental agreement and then after being directed to the outside area I waited for almost 30 minutes to get my car. After getting in the car and leaving the airport it became very obvious that the vehicle had been smoked in. It stank so bad that we drove with the windows down and left the windows down everywhere we parked for the entire week that we drove the car.

Vehicle had a very bad rotor which cause a great deal of vibration when breaking. This was unsettling since we were driving in mountain areas. I told the associates when I dropped it off about the problem. They said it would be taken care of. I hope they do!

Pick up there were delays of 30-45 minutes after I arrived. They had to bring cars from airport and clean and they weren’t ready despite 10A pick ip and I arrived at 10:15. Car smelled like smoke and tank half full. Staff at front desk and pick up was very kind and professional. It was clear they were doing their best.

You have to go to the hertz line to get the car, where they allow the hertz gold members to cut to the front of the line. They were short staffed, often running to the lot to get more keys for rentals. It took over an hour and half to pickup a prepaid car. Not worth the savings.

Friendly staff at the Reno airport. They recommended an upgrade for a larger vehicle and were able to offer it for a much lower price than they initially quoted. The vehicle was almost new and very comfortable to drive. Drop off was easy and convenient.
