I made an error with the pick up location. Unfortunately I had clicked Abbotsford but we flew into Vancouver. I understand that this mistake sits with me and the money was not refundable or transferable but the thrifty service desk at the Vancouver airport were not helpful at all and were laughing amongst themselves at my mistake. After a 14 hour flight I was exhausted and shocked at their lack of professionalism. Due to their lack of guidance I ended up booking another car through Avis who were very accommodating.
I had booked my rental early on the day I picked it up. When I got to the Thrifty counter, they had no record of it. Thankfully I had printed out my rental agreement. At first they said they didn’t have a car for me, but then one was returned while I was at the counter so they gave me that one. It was bigger than what I had asked for so I was a little hesitant to drive it at first, but it all worked out ok. The gentleman who served me was super friendly and very helpful with the rental return details.
We had to wait for a car to be returned and clean fo about a half hour
