LONG wait for airport shuttle to pick up car 7/12/21 (not busy holiday time). Other off-site car rental companies had shuttles running more frequently. Return shuttle back to airport was timely.
Couldn't find the shuttle so we took a cab (our choice). The office was understaffed. After arriving I stood in line for 35 mins before being helped at which point another customer interrupted because he had been arguing about charges. So it was back and forth trying to help him and get me my rental at the same time. I will say the agent that helped me was apologetic and remained composed but ace should have more employees. The guy that got my car was exhausted and overworked, he made note that he had worked 6 hours straight without a break. The return process was easy enough and there is a shuttle that runs every 15-20 mins. Overall, it was a cheap rental so you get what you pay for.
The car was damaged from a prior client and probably not legal to rent. The body had ugly collision damage to many panels and seams. The tire pressure warning light came on repeatedly. The passenger side door mirror was broken and did not function at all. Since I picked up the car at midnight, it was not possible for me to notice this until the next morning at my hotel parking lot. The lot is off-site from the airport in Orlando and the shuttle pick-up / drop-off was about as poorly executed as could be. If it were not for another ACE customer having called for the shuttle on their cell-phone, I would have had no way to contact ACE. I could not locate any of the "courtesy phones" mentioned in my communications from ACE. All in all, I will definitely go with another company next time.
The staff was friendly but not very quick! Huge line up when we arrived...only 2 people actually working, 3 others were wondering around the office it took well over an hour and a half to get our PRE BOOKED, PRE PAID rental....car was pretty beat up! grab handle was missing, needed a front end alignment and passenger door wouldn't open more than it did open, I called the next morning after picking it up and told them it needed an alignment thinking they may have exchanged the van for us - but nope! using the highway every day going to the parks and attractions was a shaky experience and it wasn't from the crazy drivers or traffic! Don't get me wrong,,,,it did the job but I don't think I would book through them again. The shuttle driver was amazing, courteous and entertaining!
Building seems worn down. But car and process was a pleasure
