Like having a known company. Have rented from other companies where I had to go to some little office well off site. Hertz rental location was easy to find, clean and well staffed. I knew that I could return the car after office hours and find someone there to return the car to. Their choice of car options was also important. Finally they offered a generous mileage allowance - 700 miles for 7 days.

Pros:The car was clean and I had no issues with the vehicle.

Cons:Rekha's behaviour at the counter was unacceptable. She was rude to me and other employees around her. She asked for additional address proof (not sure why since I've never needed more than my license with Hertz). She ran my card for £373 without asking what type of insurance I wanted. She did not tell me about the hidden fees. I expected a bill of £67 + insurance as stated on the Kayak site. When I get there, insurance is £55/day (absolutely insane!), £20 VAT not included in my quote. She was even rude to her own employee denying one of them a coffee break while I was standing at the counter. Overall I enjoyed the car, the dropoff experience but Rekha was downright awful. Would not want to interact with her again.

Hertz was very quick and did not try to pressure you into purchasing all the add ons. Unlike EuropeCar.
