This car rental experience was completely unacceptable. Though I had a reservation in advance, it still took well over an hour (1:20) from arrival at the Thrifty car rental building until we were on the road and traveling. There were only two visible employees checking people in, then to leave the lot, the entire waiting line was repeated to exit the lot with the vehicle through two staffed booths. For an airport the size of Denver, I expected 8-10 lanes open both at the rental desk and the parking lot. It was about as organized and efficient as a trip to the DMV in the 1970s. More than one frustrated customer tried to obtain better service from someone who appeared to be a manager; each stormed off in frustration. The car itself was okay, but had a slow leak from one of the tires that I had to fill twice during the week, and the windshield was filthy to the point that it was hard to see through when the sun was low. Both employees working the desk were friendly and helpful as was the attendant in the exit booth, and the employee that checked us back in but Jeez, what a horrible experience.
