My confirmation said I was supposed to have an suv that was Jeep Compass or vehicle like it… which means it should be 4 wheel drive. They gave me a suv that was only front wheel drive and they said they had no traction vehicles even though there is traction laws in Colorado! I even complained and let them know I live in Breckenridge but they still gave me front wheel drive. The cars alinement shook on the highway and the tires were bad. It was stressful driving it in the snow. I was disappointed . Drop off was nice experience though.

When we arrived to Fox they told us we had to have a 4 wheel drive car due to a law in Colorado requiring 4 wheel drive to go into the mountains. They tried to charge us twice the price we had reserved the car for even though we didn’t even have the option to reserve 4 wheel drive online. My husband talked them down to $250 extra, which was still insane. We would have used a different rental car company had we known we were going to be scammed upon arrival. We did call Alamo and although the quote was much more reasonable, we didn’t have time to get over to them and rebook. I do not advise using Fox if you need a 4 wheel drive car. Alamo did not charge extra for 4 wheel drive.

DO NOT RENT FROM FOX RENT A CAR. I had a reservation for a Volkswagen Jetta or similar vehicle. First, the bus that picked me up from the airport was dirty and disgusting and the inside of the building smelled like a porta potty. When I talked to the agent at the counter, she told me that it's cheaper to bring the car back unfueled. When questioned further, she admitted that they charge a $25 refueling fee plus the cost of gas. Then, she told me I could choose between a Toyota Corolla and a Hyundai Elantra. I specifically told her multiple times that I did not want the Elantra, so she told me I was getting the Corolla. After I signed the contract, she gave me the key and it was to the Elantra. Without driving the car or even leaving the building I immediately cancelled and voided the contract. Fox Rent A Car charged me a $150 fee for cancelling and Kayak refuses to refund me the $280 I paid to rent the car for 5 days even though I never drove the car. Do not rent from Fox Rent A Car. I will also never use Kayak again; the little amount of money you may or may not save isn't worth it if anything goes wrong.

Told a Dodge Journey or equivalent, no dodge journeys by the way it seats 6 and room for 2 full size bags. The equivalent was a vehicle that seats 4 and 1 suitcase. There solution upsell me at over 400.00 additional into a Dodge Durango equivalent vehicle at 400.00 additional. Any other rental agency would have given the Durango at no upgrade charge. The Durango did not have an undamaged panel or door on it. No one there to go over vehicle there solution take pictures of existing damage. ( over 15 photos) the windshield was dirty as heck stopped at first fuel station and cleaned. Original cost of journey $338.00 Equivalent room vehicle $770.00. I am a very reasonable person who travels and rents a lot of cars from other rental agencies. First time experience with Fox Rental Agency I don’t think that I will ever deal with Fox Rental again.

Car was filled half full with gas, returned full and they didn't credit so $30+ donated to Fox (I'm sure they also charged the last person for not returning the car full). $100 fee for returning car 3 hours early OR 1 minute late of your estimated time EVEN is it doesn't roll into another day (ex: pickup 5pm, estimated drop off at 2pm next day, you get charged for dropping off at 2:01pm). LONG lines, clerk lied about needing a toll pass which added $75 to the cost. Drop off didn't "check-out" car properly so clerk told us we returned late. After waiting in line 45 minutes, clerk said he would "do us a solid and not charge us a late fee" for waiting in their line - as if he was doing us a favor... In Denver, Fox is not near all the other rental locations. Seems like you drive in circles to find it. Shuttle line was VERY long and took a while to get on. Shuttle to airport had no AC and entry steps were rusted out and flexing when people stepped on them. Shuttle from airport took up to 45 minutes for some people. One group took a Lyft because the shuttle was so slow.
