The car had less than 1/4 of fuel and the key had almost no battery. I tried to use the alternative physical key and it didn't work. The brakes were a bit noisy.

Went to pick up car and car wasn’t there. Was taken to offsite location where car wasn’t ready. Finally got the car one hour late and car was still partially dirty and with significant scratches / dings. Car was literally empty of gas with yellow light on when I got it yet agent didn’t point it out. Radio didn’t work and when I went to return the car the lot was blocked so had to return to the airport which is 25 minutes away. Terrible overall experience.

Reserved a SUV. While standing in line to be served, the guy upgraded the guy in front of me to their last SUV. I ended up getting a F150 that had no oil in it's engine and broke down on the way home. Cost me an extra day to get home, a night in Modesto, a pissed off wife and a lot off gas. Avis did their best to make things right. But beware of renting from the 3600 Wilshire Blvd location.

The car we received only had one quarter tank of gas, smelled like cigarette smoke and clearly had not been cleaned prior to pickup. Upon return, we were accused of getting into an accident and smoking in the car (neither of which was true). Historically, we haven't had any issues with Hertz and I think the issues stem from the pickup location (downtown LA) more than the company itself. Nonetheless, I'd be hesitant to use Hertz in the future.

Customer Service went out of their way to help me get into the right car after a mixup that had me in a huge gas guzzler I would never find parking for when I ordered a compact car. The rates are a good third higher than they were even 90 days ago and on top of gas price increases, I don't think rental is a viable option for me going forward.

I am upset with Kayak as I searched car rentals at LAX however they gave me prices for a Hertz 30 minutes away. I could not rent from LAC Hertz and had to spend over $100 in Uber fare to the other Hertz and Lax.

Customer service was awful. They led to me to believe several things about the process of renting a vehicle and made it very difficult for me to extend my vehicle rental and so I decided to go with someone else after.

The car was a little dirty when I picked it up, staff provided good service the only problem we had was that the tire of the rental we got had low air pressure on tire so we had to stop at gas station to put air and of course just our luck the first one we stopped at was not working so we had to go to another gas station and put air, just felt like it was an inconvenience for us because car should not have any issues at all being rented out. Overall everything else was okay and we didn’t have any other issues with vehicle.
