Kayak was great. The process was easy and I was happy with the price. When my plans changed and I was going to get into town late I called budget to let them know I would be arriving after my selected location had closed and asked if there was another budget location in my area. The woman quickly told me no. I asked again in a way that made it clear I was asking not just about the town I had originally selected but any surrounding town and the answer was the same. I got online and secured a rental car from the airport just a few miles away. The rental was through budget. Kayak was great but the service I received from budget when I called was pathetic.

This office called me two hours before I was supposed to pick up my car and told me they would not have a car for me that day or the next. The earliest they would have a car for me would be on day 3 of a 4 day rental. This could have been disastrous if I had absolutely had to have a car that day. Don’t use enterprise unless you don’t really need a car. They won’t have one for you.

The Kayak website filter gave misleading information. I searched for a car at the Little Rock airport. When I got to Little Rock, I discovered that the car was at a remote location in North Little Rock, which I could not reach from the airport. I called the North Little Rock location and told them to cancel my reservation, but it was not cancelled. I would up for a $50 no-show fee. I won't rent a car through Kayak again.

Had the vehicle reserved for an 8am pickup and they didn’t have a vehicle for me until 8:35am. That put me behind all day, which lead to me missing the kickoff of the Cowboys game in Arlington TX.

Return was easy. Folks in lot were very friendly. I requested GPS. Did not get it. Pickup staff was unhelpful and condescending with obvious untruths. He acted like he wanted to say “Don’t make me think how to help you.” Price for 10 days was exorbitant! I had no other option but to take it. What happened to $25, or even $35 a day? My rental was almost twice the price of my flight! I chose the 10 day stay because the flight was cheaper, not knowing I was going to be slammed for the rental for a longer stay. Deposit added to my credit card, an expense I did not expect. I’ve never had to pay a refundable deposit before with other rental companies.

Ease of pick up and return. Good accommodations and help getting to the airport. Didn't find cracked rear light case until after taken car out. I did call in to tell staff that it had been cracked before I took out the car. They accepted it.

The car I reserved wasn’t available, and they had nothing else similar. All the person could do was say “sorry that it’ll let you do that” - meaning the website I used allowed me to reserve a car that had already been reserved. Hertz shouldn’t partner with websites that allow their cars to be double-booked. It really left me in a bind.
