The vehicle was not fueled up prior to me renting it. That was not expected and I should have been advised at the checkout counter prior to me getting into the very busy and unfamiliar 5 lane highway at rush hour.

To extend my rental it was $200 more than Budget. So I returned my rental to Indianapolis airport and took and Uber to the downtown location ($20) and picked up my next rental quickly.

Our car smelled so strongly of smoke we had to drive with the windows open or we would get headaches. The car door sides and the back seat had trash in them- including a bag of trash from a restaurant that would have been easy to see if someone had glanced in. So for sure it wasn't cleaned before we got it. When we dropped the car off, there were no workers in sight so we had to just leave the keys and walk away hoping things were in order for us to check out. I wish someone had been there to wrap up the rental with us. I am nervous they are going to say it wasn't returned.

Very long wait at counter. Payless/Avis only had one person at counter for over 25 customers. The wait was in excess of 45 minutes. Car was not clean, needed maintenance and was fairly old for rental car.

Went to pick up our rental, not even 2 hrs after having it all dash lights come on and it says malfunction, so my husband was at work and I went to take it back the guy was rude as ever talking about well he need to be here even though I had the contract and him on speakerphone while I’m at the counter. So then I have to go back up there again the next day for them to tell me they have no cars they had to upgrade the class so I went from a full size sedan to a Toyota 4Runner but what they seemed to have left out was that is be charged double my rental agreement daily.. very upset

We arrived to pick up the car and there was one person working the counter. It took 2 1/2 hours to get to the counter. The car windows were filthy inside and out so upon arriving at where we were staying we cleaned them because they were terrible to look out of at night with oncoming traffic. We felt bad for the one guy at the counter because the line was very long, and he apologized for having to leave to go to the bathroom.

Everything was great except for the return was confusing. No signs of what to do & no one there advising what to do. I had to ask another person who was also returning her car. She said the airline representative told her to just park it in any stale & drop the key in the box at the counter. So that's what I did. No email confirmation that they found the car or the keys I returned.

Only car available (with reservation) after waiting in line for over 1/2 hour was a not cleaned car. All they did was give me license plate number and make (no location number) had to walk 4 rows of cars to find car, No attendant in lot to help. When returning car all Budget parking spots taken had to park in another companies spot. No attendant to ask where to park. not a very organized process at all.

When I picked up the car, the employee told me it had half a tank of gas, which it did. However he put on the rental agreement that it was full. I did not notice this until after they charged me an additional $47.00 for gas. It had more gas when I dropped it off than when I picked it up.

Do not use Hertz in Fort Wayne anymore! There was no staff member there at pickup. Myself and 5 other renters were waiting outside and no staff member ever arrived. I called a "nearby" hertz (60 miles away) to ask if they could find out what's going on at our location. After a few minutes making phone calls, the nearby staff member came back on the line and said that no one was working and that no one would be coming. We were all out of luck. I needed my rental car to pick my mother up from the airport to see my dying grandmother in the hospital. When trying to cancel my reservation, after almost 1 hour on hold, the hertz employee told me that they had no ability to cancel it since it was booked through a 3rd party. That's after spending HOURS on the phone trying to navigate automated phone tree systems with priceline, the 3rd party booking agent, and hertz. These automated systems would literally trade me back and forth with each other. I was finally able to cancel my reservation through the hertz website just after a hertz phone center employee ARGUED with me that I was dumb and they could not adjust or cancel my booking. When I finally was able to cancel it, I was charged a $50 cancelation fee. I am outraged by this fee, but who on earth would I even begin to talk to to try and get my cancelation fee refunded? I will never use hertz again and tell everyone I meet to avoid them like the plague. My grandmother is now dead, by the way. Thanks hertz, for making those last precious moments with her full of frustration and outrage.

I was charged $46.45 for a fuel. I returned car with a full tank They refused to refund the $46.45 I was told fuel was $3.44 a gallon. I was told I would pay for how many gallons needed to fill the tank. I want a refund for the $46.45.

It was not all Thrifty's fault. My Delta flight out of DSM was delayed so I missed my connection in ATL. That didnt get me into Indianapolis until 1:30 am. All car rental personnel had gone home. I immediately called Thrify and they told me I had to contact Price Line and they said they would look into refunding me. I had tried to let them know of the delay earlier in the day on their automative answering system but got no response. I walked out to the car lot and found an Avis employee that helped me out. So if you can help make sure Price Line refunds me, I will continue to use Kayak. Thank You Darrin Lynd

I made a reservation for a car through kayak back in March at this location. When I went to pick it up at my scheduled date and time, they informed me that the over $500 I had already put down was nowhere to be found and that this happens frequently with kayak (who uses CarRentals.com). They just don’t forward your money to the vendor. They made me a reservation for a car, but did not forward my money to Thrifty. Additionally, I waited in line for more than an hour to find this out with no explanation about why the waits were so long. The staff were clearly stressed and overworked and I was not the only person having issues at the counter. Another person and their family stood at the counter for no less than 45 minutes. No one got away from that counter in less than 15 minutes and nobody was telling the Gold members they could leave the line and go get a car. A Gold member stood behind me in line and was not told he had special privileges until he was nearly at the counter, which made me upset for him! The places was incredibly disorganized and the staff was under trained and stressed. They were just trying to get through people and were not kind or good at explaining anyone’s issues. I would literally never rent from this location again even if my rental had gone off without a hitch when I got to the counter. Waiting more than an hour to unsuccessfully pick up my reservation was ridiculous, and the explanation I was given at the time made 0 sense and I had to piece it together with a friend after I was told to get OUT OF THE LINE and figure out my issue on my own. Just absolutely horrible. I might change or update this review if I ever get a refund of the money I paid in March for a car I was unable to pickup from this disorganized, overbooked location.

We never gotcthe type/ size vehicle we reaerved. Originally reserved a 15 seats van, receiicwd a 12 seats vehicle. Two friends had to cancel travel plans because we could not all fit in vehicle. We'll not reccommend this location at all.

When I arrived, the lady that was working was sitting in the van I was supposed to be renting. She hops out and asks what vehicle I'm there for. I tell her the mini van. She simply says "It's not running." There were no other large vehicles available and she offered no sort of solution. She did not care one bit and has no people skills. I asked her if I was going to be refunded and she just told me to call customer service. She did not want to help in any way and acted liked I was the inconvenience. I will never even attempt to use this company again.
